Tips for your magical hiking vacation with your four-legged friend

Dog adventures at the Wilder Kaiser: a paradise for paw friends

Pack your bags and lace up your hiking boots, because the Haus Bergland apartment in Söll am Wilden Kaiser is ready to welcome you and your four-legged friend! The picturesque Tyrol not only offers breathtaking landscapes, but also a dog paradise where adventure and relaxation await you and your faithful companion.

Good to know: Rules with heart from the Wilder Kaiser region

We love dogs and want your vacation at the Wilder Kaiser to be unforgettable. So that all guests, whether on two or four paws, can enjoy the Wilder Kaiser region to the full, the tourism association has a few simple rules that should be followed when hiking and walking with dogs. In this article we have compiled the most important tips for the Wilder Kaiser region:

1. experience the mountains together – be active at the Wilder Kaiser:

Exercise areas (off-leash) where dogs can let off steam

The Wilder Kaiser region offers special dog miles and meadows for dogs, where your four-legged friend can romp around off the lead to their heart’s content and meet new friends:
One highlight is certainly the charming dog mile along the Stampfangerbach stream in Söll (approx. 100 m behind our apartment house / your favorite vacation apartment in Söll) or the large, fenced-in dog meadow on 3,200 m² in Kitzbühel.
These exercise areas are accessible free of charge and perfect for giving your dog a little freedom under safe supervision.

Hiking & biking (with leash):

It is important to keep your dog on a lead in places such as hiking trails, in the town center, in fields and pastures. This ensures that both the local wildlife and your furry friend are protected.
A little tip:
Along the walking and hiking trails there are practical dispensers with free dog waste bags and garbage cans for disposal.
Please note that the region attaches great importance to compliance with these regulations (checks are carried out). Fines of up to €2000 can be imposed for non-compliance with the dog waste collection or leash requirement.

2. bathing lakes for dogs – looking for refreshment?

When the summer heat is on, various cool spots offer a welcome way for your dog to cool off. The Wilder Kaiser region offers special dog pools and beaches for dogs, where your darling can splash around:

  • Gieringer Weiher (dogs are allowed to splash around in the entire pond)
  • Dog beach at Walchsee (eastern shore)
  • Dog pool at Hexenwasser (behind Stöcklalm)
  • Dog area at Pillersee (marked)

Please note: The region’s bathing lakes are reserved for humans.

3. mobility with a dog: bus, train and mountain railroad

Whether regional bus, train or mountain railroad – your dog is a welcome passenger.

  • All regional buses and the KaiserJet are free for your four-legged friends.
  • The cable cars in Scheffau and Söll are also free for dogs! Only the cable cars in Ellmau – Going charge a small fee for taking your dog with you. For your information: Please remember that it is compulsory to wear a lead and muzzle on the buses and mountain railroads.

So nothing stands in the way of your active mountain adventure! We hope that this article has provided you with the best possible information about the dog offer and the small rules of the region. In any case, we are already looking forward to welcoming you and your four-legged friends to our apartment house in Söll soon.
