Der Bergdoktor

LOCATIONS OF THE POPULAR TV SERIES

The scenic region around the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountain massif is already somewhat familiar to many of our guests. Why? Because the towns of Ellmau and Going are the original locations of the famous Austrian-German TV series “Der Bergdoktor”. Step into the magnificent natural scenery and follow in the footsteps of the actors.

During your holiday in the holiday apartment Söll, discover doctor Martin Gruber’s home on foot or by bike. For interested Bergdoktor fans, various guided tours are also offered. Here, a film expert guide will reveal more details and behind-the-scenes knowledge about the TV show. At Aparthotel Bergland, we are happy to inform you about the current offers. Many well-known filming locations, such as the Bergdoktor’s practice, the Gruber family farm, the Gasthof Wilder Kaiser and Hintersteiner lake, invite you for a visit and provide a glimpse behind the scenes.

The Gruberhof

Farm “Köpfing” in Söll

The mountain farm of the TV family can be found on the Söller Bromberg. The farm continues to be run but can be visited as part of a guided tour. Choose between the offers: Visit Gruberhof with a tractor ride or visit with a culinary tractor ride; here, a lunch buffet is included. The ride takes place in a specially designed tractor trailer. The tourist office in Söll is at your disposal for questions and further information.

The village square in Going

… is the heart of the village with its stately church and the “Wilder Kaiser” inn. In reality, however, the “Wilder Kaiser” is not an inn but a beautiful building, the “old Dorfkrämerhaus”, which they use for the exterior shots. The original location where the interior shots for the inn film scenes are filmed is the renowned Föhrenhof restaurant in the Auwald district of Ellmau.

A small Bergdoktor’s hut awaits you at the Going village square during the summer months. Here you will receive detailed information about the filming location and a “little surprise”.
