The 14-kilometer circular hike begins in Going and leads along forest trails and alpine meadows, first to the Gaudeamushütte. It’s worth taking a leisurely break here before continuing along the challenging Klammlweg to the Gruttenhütte at 1,620 meters. The narrow trail includes sections secured with ropes, iron rungs, and a short ladder. A head for heights and sure-footedness are therefore absolutely essential. Once you reach the top, on a clear day you can even spot the Großglockner and the Großvenediger. The return route leads back to Going via the Wochenbrunner Alm.
