Padel Tennis: A Cool, Trendy Sport—Our New Attraction in Söll
Just a 4-minute walk from the Haus Bergland apartment:
Sometimes a shared idea turns into something truly great. That’s exactly what happened to us! For quite some time, we’d wanted to launch something new in Söll that would bring just as much joy to locals as it does to the guests staying in our luxury vacation apartments.
Together with our partners Lukas, Günther, and Silvana, we’ve built two modern padel tennis courts right on the shores of Lake Ahorn in Söll. Just a 4-minute walk from our apartment building, you can play on the new panoramic courts with a view of the Wilder Kaiser.
As specialists in active vacations in the Wilder Kaiser region, we already offer our guests numerous skiing and hiking perks, including our central location right in the heart of the hiking area and our close proximity to the ski lifts.
Now we’re adding another athletic attraction that guests staying in our luxury vacation apartments can try out after their hike!
What we can promise you: guaranteed fun!
So we’re thrilled to introduce our new project to you in this article!
The most important things at a glance:
- A cool way to unwind after your hike: the trendy sport of padel tennis… guaranteed fun.
- The two modern padel tennis courts are just a 4-minute walk from our Haus Bergland apartment and are located right on Lake Ahorn in Söll.

Our new passion project: padel tennis
1. What exactly is padel tennis?
Maybe you’ve already heard of it or even watched a match. Padel is somewhat similar to tennis, but it’s played on a smaller court surrounded by glass walls. The walls can be used as part of the rally, which makes the game quite dynamic. The game is usually played by four people, two against two.
The best part is: you don’t have to be an experienced tennis player to enjoy it. The rules are easy to learn, and you’ll usually be able to play your first extended rallies in no time. Padel is a great way to spend a few active hours, especially for families, friends, or couples who want to play with others.
And don’t worry if you’ve never held a padel racket before. We offer trial classes and beginner courses. If you’d like to improve your technique, you can also book a private lesson. All the necessary equipment is provided for the classes.
2. Two panoramic courts with a breathtaking view
When planning our facility, it wasn’t just important to us that the courts be playable. The surrounding area had to be just right, too. After all, we’re located in one of the most beautiful spots in Söll!
Here’s an overview of the highlights:
- Our two outdoor panoramic courts are equipped with artificial turf and glass walls. While you play, you’ll have a direct view of the Wild Kaiser mountains. It’s a backdrop that’s a joy to behold, even when the occasional ball goes wide.
- The courts are available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and are open to the public. So you don’t have to be a member of a club or a guest at our apartment building. Anyone who wants to play padel is welcome.
- We’ve also made the booking process as simple as possible. You can reserve your preferred date online through the Playtomic platform. If you’re still looking for teammates, the “Open Matches” feature gives you the chance to meet other padel enthusiasts.
- Rackets and balls are available to rent right there on site. So all you need to do is pack your sneakers, and you’re ready to go.
3. Just stick around a little while after the match
We wanted to create a place where people don’t head straight home right after the last rally. That’s why our padel facility also includes a cozy chill area.
After playing, you can sit here together, have a drink, laugh about the best rallies, or simply enjoy the view of the mountains. Drinks and light snacks are available from the vending machine. Seating, a restroom, and free parking are also available.
And since Maple Lake is right next door, it’s a wonderful way to combine an active afternoon in the summer with a dip in the cool water.
Maybe you’ll spend the morning hiking or at Hexenwasser, play a round of padel in the afternoon, and then wind down the day leisurely by the lake. It’s exactly this mix that we love so much about our new location.
A new activity idea for your vacation in Söll
For our guests staying at the Haus Bergland apartment complex, the new facility is, of course, especially convenient. It’s just a four-minute walk to the two courts at Ahornsee. So you can plan a game on the spur of the moment without having to get in the car.
Whether as a change of pace from hiking, for an active family afternoon, or simply because you like to try something new on vacation: padel is a perfect fit for an active getaway in the Wilder Kaiser region.
And when you return to your luxury vacation apartment in Söll after playing, you can get comfortable in your apartment and start planning your next game.
A project we’re really proud of
For us and our partners Lukas, Günther, and Silvana, this facility represents much more than just the idea of building two sports fields. It’s the joy of working together to create something that brings people together and enriches our beautiful town of Söll with yet another recreational opportunity.
That makes it all the more wonderful now to see the first players on the courts and to experience just how much fun this sport is—whether someone is holding a racket for the first time or already plays padel regularly.
We hope you enjoy our new project as much as we do. Maybe we’ll see you soon at Ahornsee for a game of padel!
